PROTECT THE WALL. PRESERVE THE POOL.
How Metal Armor Was Developed
Metal Armor Technologies began with a simple observation: steel-wall swimming pools have a corrosion problem, and the industry needed a better way to address it.
After seeing what can happen when an older pool liner is removed—rust, surface deterioration, and corrosion hidden behind the liner—I started looking closely at the products being used to protect and restore those steel walls. There were plenty of general-purpose coatings on the market, but I saw an opportunity for something developed specifically around the conditions found in the swimming pool industry.
Instead of trying to adapt an off-the-shelf product, I approached an experienced coating manufacturer and began working directly with their team.
I explained what I was seeing in the field, how steel pool walls are constructed, the environment they are exposed to, and what pool professionals need when they uncover corrosion during a liner replacement or renovation. From there, we began discussing the characteristics the coating would need to perform effectively in that application.
Working together, we evaluated the formulation and refined it around the needs of steel pool walls. The goal was to create a coating that could help protect the metal substrate, provide strong adhesion, create a durable protective barrier, and give pool professionals a practical solution when working with aging steel-wall pools.
That collaboration became Metal Armor.
Metal Armor wasn't created because the world needed another can of coating. It was developed because the pool industry needed a product with a specific purpose: helping preserve and protect the steel structure behind the liner.
By combining firsthand knowledge of the market with the technical expertise of an established coating manufacturer, we developed a solution designed with the swimming pool professional in mind.
Today, Metal Armor Technologies is focused on helping pool builders, service companies, distributors, and manufacturers take a proactive approach to protecting one of the most important—and often unseen—components of an inground swimming pool.
Protect the wall. Preserve the pool.
